Bell Cittern

Jane is holding a Bell Cittern. It was a type of English guitar popular with the ladies of the 18th Century. The bell shape is a German variety. This certainly is a good match with Jane's German heritage!

The musical glasses were popular with traveling street performers in the 18th Century. Ben Franklin designed his Glass Armonica after falling in love with the beautiful sounds of the glasses.
